Hot Stone Massage (ITEC Level 3 option available)

Prerequisites: Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology, Business Awareness, Massage / Reflexology / Aromatherapy

Note: Hot Stone Massage students must undertake relevant assignments and case studies

Upon completion of this course, you will be a professional Hot Stone Massage therapist and will be able to gain insurance to practice upon the general public and professional memberships.

You will be required to complete a number of case studies, which means that your friends and family will be able to experience and benefit from this relaxing therapy whilst you train.

Candidates for the ITEC option will be awarded the ITEC Level 3 Certificate in Stone Therapy Massage.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Know the history of stone massage
  • Be able to care for your hot and cold stones
  • Provide a professional Hot Stone Massage treatment to a client
  • Understand contraindications to hot stone massage and how to adapt a treatment for specific conditions
  • Understand the history of hot stone massage and connection with the stones
  • Adapt the stone layout used for different outcomes and objectives
  • Understand when to use cold stones and crystals in your treatment
  • Be able to adapt a treatment for a range of conditions and outcomes
  • Provide appropriate aftercare advice
  • Be able to balance the chakras

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to practice in a number of different settings:
In your own private practice, as a self-employed practitioner
In a salon, health club, spa or hotel
