An Introduction to Herbal Medicine

Today we will explore the healing power of herbs, and use several commonly used 'hedgerow herbs' as examples. This is the perfect introduction to Herbal Medicine for anyone interested in the subject, especially those practitioners who might wish to do a CPD course in herbal medicine.

Participants will have the opportunity to sample various herbal preparations should they so wish. Printed notes will be supplied and the course will be illustrated with slides. For those therapists needing CPD points CPD certificates will be issued.

Alan Payne is a Herbalist and Naturopathic Iridologist with busy practices in the Midlands and Glastonbury. He teaches both subjects, and has lectured in Herbal Medicine and Iridology for various organisations, including Eden Project (Cornwall), The Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists International and the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and has appeared on Granada Television in programmes featuring Iridology related topics. Alan qualified at the College of herbs and Natural healing, and subsequently became a lecturer for that organisation. He has travelled extensively, including to Singapore, Australia, America and Spain to work with and learn from some of the best Natural Healers in the world.
